UGA is raiding our state this year. I believe that is #7 for them out of the 10 verbals they have received. Time to get that fence up around this state and now.

Man, I love all this football talk!!! Is it September yet???!!!

And for the record, I'm predicting (and hoping like heck) for a one loss season. If we've lost it before the cocktail party, I think we lay it to UF.

sadler, I've also predicted a one-loss season. Unfortunately, I think it's going to be a loss to Tech...

dapolla, not that I don't think that the 10th Street Gang does not have a good football team. I question whether or not we have a defense this year that is saying things like "we should be respected". Not too much has to be said about the effort (lack of) in the second half against Tech. They are coming in force with the running game and with the returning UGA players that went through that pitiful defensive performance . . . . I truly hope that we can show our D some respect as supporters and fans. Talk is cheap, pads and tackling seem to have made the difference since the game began many, many years ago.

Very good possibility, dapolla...I just think if we're undefeated by the time we get to Tech, the players would do EVERYTHING in their power to keep Tech from ruining the season. I also think (and would hope) that our guys' pride will kick in after being EMBARRASSED by them last year, so.....

Guess we'll see soon!!!

If we can hit and wrap up instead of arm-tackling, we'll be in good shape. A lot of arm-tackling has to do with finding good angles on the ball carrier, and our second- and third- (and fourth-) stringers simply didn't have the experience to know to do that. Making a good hit and wrapping up means anticipating where that back or receiver or tight end is going to be in space fifteen yards before they're there. Could have been the difference between 45-42 and 42-38 last year. I dunno. Who knows? But that's what I think. Experience and leadership will be the difference, boys. 2005: experience and leadership. 2007: experience and leadership. Here we go in an odd-numbered year. GO DAWGS!

A big advantage, we are flying under the radar, without all the preseason hype.
I think the leadership is there.

If our D can play very good "assignment football" they will always be in position to make the tackles. They won't have to anticipate or worry about the angles. That comes from GOOD coaching.

Also believe that if we can beat UF, we can beat Tech or anybody on the schedule. UF probably IS the best team in the country.......but anybody's beatable on a given day.

I'm with Buc, the D has to prove itself to me.

Still believe 2010 is our year for a run at the NC.
