I have been unable to visit this site since the Florida blow out. Other than the 2003 loss to UF, this was the worst in memory for me. I have continued to watch every game and have cheered the Dawgs on nonetheless. This past weekend was absolutely horrible. As much as I would like to jump on the "Fire Willie" bandwagon. I lay most of the blame for the Tech loss on the defensive secondary and our ability to get penalties when we need them least. The corners could not play assigment football. Every big running play that Tech had they didn't cover the pitch man or if they did they tried to knock the runner off his feet instead of wrapping up and tackling. If Reshad Jones was a five star recruit, I don't want no more. This was an exclamation point on a hugely disappointing season. Most likely Moreno is going pro and I wish him well. On the other hand Stafford better stick around if he hopes to be taken before the third round.

One more thing, Paul Johnson and Tech are only going to get better........

Stafford will be the first QB picked in the draft.

if you are going to blame the secondary then you must blame WM. he coaches the secondary. i agree with averagedawg, i also think MS will be the first QB drafted. Which means the Lions with the first overall pick will take Stafford. with that being said he might be a 3 year p‍layer‍ and be done. the lions offensive line is terrible much worse than our young line. he will get the hell beat out of him for atleast two years.

No matter what the problem in our defense, the third quarter was a mess. I had to leave the room. I couldn't come back until mid 4th quarter.

Always the optimist, the "good" part is the pressure of a long streak with Tech is broken. The boys from North Avenue got to win one Between the Hedges. Congrats to them. Some people say our defense failed but sometime things just go your way. WTNY!

Now the good part. Next season will be spectacular. The team looks good and with some adjustments we can do much better next year.

Hopefully CMR will take charge and make the adjustments. In that respect, we just have to trust his judgment. So far, even with all the coaching talk going on, my faith is still with CMR. I hope he reads this forum. Some good ideas are being tossed around.

I have to disagree about next season, we open up with OK state at their place, then get usc at home. With a new qb and unproven running back and the same old defense, we could be 0-2. We still have to play LSU, pick up Ark which is improving as we are declining, then the usual with Fla, Aub and very much improved Tech. With all the p‍layer‍s we had this year and our tough schedule turned out to be a dud, don't see much hope in the future if things don;t change.

The team has a lot of good parts but it is not running in sync. I am hopeful we will get the change needed to make it get better.

But don't take me too seriously on next season predictions. I only go on gut feeling plus what I read on this forum. All I got to say is I saw some pretty good playing out there this year.

I agree with you Duck. There are plenty of unproven variables.

Hey duck, I'm with ya. Got some good news and some bad news........the "good news" is that we will have most of our defense back, the "bad news" is that we will have most of our defense back!!
