TOPIC: Fire Willie Martinez

I concur with all of the above. A defense has to play with a passion for hitting and a meanness that ours does not have. We need players to step up in leadership roles, and coaches who instill a desire to hit. CWM doesn't seen to be the man. Is there an Erk out there?

Yea there is an Erk out there. his name is Will Muschamp! If he is over looked for a HC position this year i say CMR go get him. i know it would be a long shot for you(CMR) to pull the trigger on willie, but there are better DC out there i promise. hey tuberville might be available soon..

Devils advocate here:
what if willie doesn't think he has the talent on the outside to blitz as often as he should? There has to be something going on in his brain that he doesn't trust the defense. We play a loose defense with an uptight personality.

Yeah, I agree with you guys. I'm usually supportive of all the coaches. but something has to change. This is ridiculous to be giving up the amount of points the D is giving up. I understand injuries, but we have outstanding depth. The O line has been decimated with injuries, but is still performing. When I think back to the dominant FSU and Miami's of the late 80's and 90's, their defenses were FEARED. We need some teams to start fearing our D. Usually opposing OC's look forward to playing us because win or lose, they will probably have a record setting day.

We don't have that big hitter this year either. We need a Thomas Davis, Greg Blue type head hunter to give the D that swagger and instill that \"fear\"we all so desire.

I actually had a conversation with my buddy back home about this very subject. I'll say it again. Whether or not CMR wants to fire him or not. I believe he will be gone. Evans will force the issue. Not because he is a brain child of the game of football. You don't need to be to see WM needs to go. But for one main reason. Adams!!

What does our hated Prez love more than anything else. Our proud tradition of athletics. NO. Our proud tradition of academics. No. Then what you say. MONEY!!! That is what he loves. Even he has to take notice at how badly our \"D\" is playing. Bad \"D\" in the SEC = No BCS. No BCS means no guarantee of 13.5 million in money, and what does Adams love more than anything else. MONEY!! I hope it will happen. I hate to see bad things happen to a good man. I honestly think he is a good man. He's just not good at being a \"D\" coordinator. The penalty at not being good is FIRED!!

I agree with all y'all. Bend but don't break is BROKEN!! We can't play in this conference w/ three down lineman and crossing our fingers that we'll hold in at man to man. Let's see if we can't trade willie for will~

We've been patient enough.......pathetic display and a waste of talent. You can't be passive in the game today......you have to be aggressive all the time........just too much talent on every team. We need new blood at DC but will be surprised if CMR fires him...they were room mates in college.

AJC - Bulldog Beat

  • 3 players dismissed by Georgia for team rules violations

ATHENS — Three players have been kicked off the Georgia football team for an undisclosed violation of team rules.

UGA coach Mark Richt announced this morning that defensive back Nick Marshall, wide receiver Sanford Seay and  defensive back Chris Sanders have been dismissed from the team. All three are freshmen and were members of Georgia’s 2011 “Dream Team” recruiting class.

The school did not address what precipitated the dismissals.

“It’s a privilege to play college football and to be a part of this team and University,” Richt said in a statement. “Along with that privilege comes certain responsibilities. Mistakes were made, and part of...

  • UGA has to report NCAA secondary violation due to comments on Harvey-Clemons

ATHENS — Georgia will have to report an NCAA secondary violation regarding its recruitment of Josh Harvey-Clemons. But as far as secondary violations go, they don’t get much more secondary than this one.

Jim Booz, UGA’s senior associate athletic director for compliance, confirmed to The AJC Thursday that coach Mark Richt ran afoul of NCAA bylaws when he commented on Harvey-Clemons shortly after the highly-touted prospect announced on national television his decision to sign with the Bulldogs on Wednesday. Harvey-Clemons’ signing ceremony at Lowndes High School in Valdosta was televised live by ESPN and the sports network also had a reporter...

  • UPDATED: Harvey-Clemons never wavered on UGA, just had to convince granddad

ATHENS — Josh Harvey-Clemons said he never wavered on his decision to sign with Georgia. He just had to convince his grandfather that it was the best move.

“I just had to sit down with my family and get everybody on the same page,” said Harvey-Clemons, reached by phone Thursday morning in Valdosta. “He was looking at it as Florida was closer. I’ve got a cousin who still plays at Lowndes and my little brother is going to be in high school next year. Florida is only like an hour and 20 minutes away, so he was thinking about going to...
