TOPIC: From Athens - Bye Week Friday

Growl, I wasn't necessarly calling the players names, but I guess you did not think that the D quit in the middle of the 3rd quarter. It funny the ESPN anylist said he could not believe UGA just quit on defense, or did I just dream that up. I can't really blame the coaches for the lack of effort by the players.

Just read where another recruit 2014 signee Demare Kitt a WR from Sandy Springs decommitts. I guess all these rrecruits are seeing things like some of us are, that we will never be a championship team.

Yes Duck I did think they quit and it was directly the responsibility of the coaching staff to let it happen, well coached teams don't quit. I watch games every Saturday with less talent than UGA has and very seldom see what we witnessed on Saturday night. Sorry to tell you this but the coaching staff let the players down and then the players let us down,no easy way to say it.

That's how I've felt about UGA football for over 3 years now.

Personally, I was disappointed in both. Not going to fault one side more than the other. Players still had chances to make plays. Not going to call any names, but when you get those opportunities, and there were many, you have to make plays. The coaches have put you in that position and that is all they can do.

As far as the talent thing, I am not sure which offensive line in the country is going to have musch success against that front. They are that good. Clowney is probably the best defensive player I have seen this year. Dont care how many stars a tackle has or how highly they are thought of, he is going to make plays against anybody.

Don't get me wrong, I am not happy with the coaches either. Something has to give besides looking scared every time we play a quality team. We start slow. I am tired of seeing it. I have lost my patience with this coaching staff. Listed my scenario on the only way we keep them in a previous thread. You are going to lose just about every fight you are in when you sit back and try to feel out an opponent and to me that is what we do.

AD5....agree with your post with one exception....

imo, BAMA's OL would handle USC's defensive front......not obviously shut a Clowney or a Taylor completely down but would "win the battle" over 60 minutes.....I may be wrong but.....

One thing I do feel confident in.....our OL is average at best and this situation every year of making excuses for our OL is inexcusable.
