I will say this and at some point if there is enough interest will elaborate. Jon Gruden is a great believer in quarterbacks, can never have enough of them. He fails miserably when it comes to judging talent and drafting talent along the offensive and defensive lines. Jon Gruden is a lot like Gene Chizik, meaning . . . . he is an opportunist. His language and off field after hours conduct makes some of these young UGA pups disgressions look like child's play.

Jon Gruden did come to Tampa and take over from Tony Dungy. Tony Dungy could not get the offensive side moving, Jon Gruden did. After winning the Super Bowl against the team that he had previously been the head coach (Oakland) he went down hill. There are many reasons that Gruden lost his job in Tampa.

The group of players that were the strength of that Super Bowl team were brought in by Sam Wyche. Brooks, Sapp and Lynch. Sam was born in Atlanta, Georgia, played football at Furman University, quarterbacked the team. Dungy took the team over from Wyche and the heads began to roll.

Said I was not going to be long. What you see above is not long compared to what could be said. My vote, respectfully, does not include Jon Gruden Head Coach UGA. My donations would stop instantly if he were given the job.

Not enough money in the UGA system to lure Jon Gruden. Short man with a huge ego complex. I will stop.

And he said that Bobo is a great OC and that Tony Romo is the most dazzling playmaking QB in all of football....

I think his football knowledge may be lessening of late.

ogredawg, Mike Gundy is a serious players coach and it would be difficult to get Mike to leave T. Boone Pickens. By the way, I am a member of the T. Boone Pickens Army. Fracking and Natural Gas.

I would walk down that path with you to retain Gundy's services . . . . (if we could not get Kirby Smart).

As long as we are speculating how about Dan Mullen. Got this off of Wickipedia. No disrespect to MSU, but don't think they have the talent UGA has. Seems they are doing about the same as we are now.

Mullen's first recruiting class at Mississippi State was ranked #19 in the nation by Scout.com.[5] and his 2012 recruiting class was ranked #18 in the nation.[6] In his first season as head coach at Mississippi State in 2009, his team went 5–7 against the toughest schedule in the nation [1]. In 2010, his Bulldog team went 9-4 overall and 4-4 in the SEC including victories over Georgia, Florida, Kentucky, and Mississippi, and the 4 losses came only to teams ranked in the Top 12. Mississippi State capped off the 2010 season by defeating traditional power Michigan in the 2011 Gator Bowl 52-14, and achieved a #15 ranking in the final AP poll. Mullen is now 3-0 versus in-state conference rival Ole Miss, after a 31-3 win on November 26, 2011.

wlayton, when those that watch him on the Battleship ESPN, they are seeing an offensive coach. When he came to Tampa Bay, some of the first words out of his mouth were to Defensive Coordinator Monte Kiffin.

Gruden said to Kiffin, "I don't care whether or not I am the Head Coach, you can be the Head Coach of the Defense and all I want to do is run the offense". Words aren't exact, they are damn close. At that time Kiffin was being interviewed by San Francisco for the head coaching job. Jon Gruden knew that he needed a superior defensive coach, and at that time, Monte Kiffin was that. Kiffin took from Dungy what at that time was not known as the "Tampa Two". Never doubt that Dungy was the man that started that defense and made it work. Kiffin groomed it and the rest is history.

Sorry, we all have likes and dislikes.

Believe me, I'm not a Gruden fan (like watching his expressions though). Mainly wanted everyone to see the stats he posted is what I was focusing on.

TN Dawg, much like you, I agree that Mullen is a very good coach. The beginning of Urban Meyer's fall from grace at Florida was when Mullen left to coach Miss State. Meyer up until that point was getting all of the credit, and he is certainly one to take all of the credit he can gather.

Not opposed to Mullen either. He seems to have Miss State on the same path that Spurrier took when he went to South Carolina. Appears that way to me. Mullen is fiesty.
