TOPIC: Time To Change The Offense

Re: Time To Change The Offense

SEC defenses play football from top to bottom. Glad to be a part of a conference that does not make excuses. Mike, Quayvon Hicks . . . . I hope is the Big Back that we have needed at the fullback position, makes the offense work in my mind. Not going to cast Richard Samuels aside either, think he is going to be all that this season. Also keep going back and watching RS in the JAX game . . . young man is a warrior, or maybe I should say . . . . a BULLDOG.

AD5, you coached until recently, (recently in this old farts mind ?? ) younger than some of us but not that young. You have a good grip on the modern athlete and the way the game is played. Have not been on a football field in a long time, have walked the sidelines (when permitted). I study the game but do not have the hands on that you and some others have on this board. AD5, this appears to be a very good football team. A win in game two could serve the Red and Black well for the upcoming season.

Agree Buc, Mizzou is critical imo. We get a win there and believe we're off and running (barring a big injury bug).

Could turn out to be an early turning point to the year. In the USC game, we will be at full strength and they won't be catching us early.

wlayton, cannot speak loudly enough to how bad I want to win in both Columbia's. Don't take this wrong, if I had a choice of which team I want to win against the most . . . . South Carolina. That would be if I knew that we could not win both. I do not want SS to beat us three years in a row.

Spurrier almost acted like a human being when he said, and I quote, "we should not have won that game against UGA". That game of course was between the Hedges.

SS stands a very good chance of beating UF in the Swamp . . . again, he has to be derailed prior to that. If SS wins against UGA and UF, the recruiting balance is lost. Again, just one old fart's opinion.

I truly feel that Mark Richt has to look into the mirror and understand that this game with South Carolina is that big. We kick their butts in Columbia, it could and probably will change our recruiting fortunes after that clash. It will be a CLASH. I believe that, also believe that most on this board believe that.

Our defensive group appears from all reports to be ready, all of us hope that we see why these players returned to Athens.

OK, not going to be ugly, but will say this . . . . we put points on the board against SS/South Carolina last year. Either they are better or we are. No excuses, both sides of our team need to look squarely in the eyes of the Cocks and . . . . wring their necks. There I go again, back in the day that is the way Sunday chicken started. . . .

Toughness is what AM has......yes he has made mistakes trying to make a play and some very bad blocking has cost him to fumble a few times......but he has shown especially against the gaytors last year that he can make the plays when it counts.....2 4th down TD throws into coverage show that he does have what it takes to win.......I am with Buc all the way.....spread the field put him in the gun and let him make the plays.....he is the undisputed leader of the offense and now is his time.......he has to perform this year or move out of the way and let the next up have his shot.....and I think he knows this as a 3rd year QB in the SEC he cannot make the mental mistakes or have the let downs he did against the upper tier teams last year. Bobo has to change and let AM run if he has too or hit the TE or RB coming out of the backfield on the short passes instead of throwing the ball 20+ yards on 3rd and 3. Talent is there for the taking and AM is not a one man team but as he goes so does the offense. RSIII will step up and lead also and the new pups back there should follow his example of TEAM FIRST. The hype for Marshall and Gurley has been loud but they have yet to play a down in the SEC and with RSIII and KM leading the way they hopefully will learn quickly and make a big impact.

The change has to come from the OC and HC.......they run the offense, they have the talent to win and win big this year. No excuses the time is now.

Yes, AM does have some wheels. He made several nice runs against MSU in bowl game when we needed him to. Having QB with motion opens up offense. I would love to see AM rolling out and hitting Rome running free in secondary. This could be interesting year.

I am going to say JJ-29 has 3 or 4 sacks in this game I think when ESPU CFB said Missouri was going to beat us that gave him alot of motivation to show them what Georgia is made of also think CTG will have something special for them to welcome them to the SEC.

Plan and simple Murray is in his 4 year time to be a QB he just needs less than 8 int. this year let the running game work for us Marshall is already up to 210 pounds I think he can handle the load.
