I remember it well, Buc, and I still feel the same...although not sure how long they will hold out...and if they start paying, they will soon regret it, IMO.

I also remember you made great points and I shifted to your way of thinking. 10/4 on the regret mentioned above.

Not sure who all read the article on the right side of page from the AJC about IC transferring to ASU or not. But hopefully, according HC Barlow; He said "the last three times he has had players transfer to Alabama State from SEC schools, those schools went on to win national championships the coming seasona". Maybe getting rid of a couple of "I"'s on the team will help with a few of our "issues"........

I read that..
I also read the article about VDooley's comments that included this little fact..
"Georgia has dipped below 70 scholarship players heading into next season. The NCAA allows 85."
Our competition gray-shirts because they don't have enough scholarships... and we enter 15 under??
Am I missing something here?

Another embarrassment to The University of Georgia.
Another embarrassment to Coach Richt.
What the hell is going on?
Thought that I was through with Isaiah Crowell until I read the following article. Really do not understand those that say give IC another chance. Did not take long for the football coach at Alabama State to ring IC's number and give him a chance to play football. Makes me wonder how IC entered the University of Georgia. Right off of the bat he had a problem with JTII, that however was pushed under the rug. McGarity, hope you have a backbone, someone in Athens needs one.
Seldom since VD left UGA and even before have I agreed with him. Vince is right about his remarks concering IC. My problem with VD is some of his coaching hires after becoming Athletic Director. Close to the pot calling the kettle black. Not sure why VD weighed in, needs to look closer at his mistakes . . . . hiring practices etc. Black cloud in my opinion is hanging over VD, same cloud that he is casting in IC's direction.
Sooner or later this kind of garbage is going to ruin college football and the other sports. Only reason I mention football first . . . . . that is the reason that coaches and we have one at UGA can make millions of dollars. Guess it is called winning football games and sweeping the dust under the carpet. Guess I am getting too old to understand.

Why would one school drop him and another IMMEDIATELY pick up a player who is facing two felony weapons charges? Because college football is about winning, and there are plenty out there who think IC can help them win. So did UGA about two weeks ago. But he committed his crimes at UGA, and nowhere else. So, Alabama State figures "he still has a clean record here" and "we can 'rehabilitate' him". Yeah, right.
IC was recruited by Alabama too. I truly believe that this would have still happened in Tuscaloosa, but I don't think we would have heard about it. It's easy to blame a coach who isn't winning . . . well, isn't winning ENOUGH.
Football players in D1 and in the pros are NOT nice people, guys. Sure, you have your Tebows and Mannings and Staffords, but the reality is this: they are generally big, mean, hardened gangstas who couldn't care less about an education. They just want the ball - and their 9mms and their weed and their ho's and their night life.
Buc, back to your comments - what surprises me the most about that Dooley interview was how open he was with his opinion of how things have been handled by the current head coach. That was something that simply wouldn't have been done not that long ago, whether he believed it or not. You know that what Vince refused to say on the record was that the kid was a cancer. Those other 4 players (or "playas" as they say in the 'hood) included 3 freshmen and a sophomore. All were doing the same thing, but they just weren't driving the car, so they couldn't be charged. The program is better off, as Vince says, but like it or not, there are still PLENTY of that "type" on the team - on EVERY team. Otherwise every school would look (and play) like Vanderbilt.

Again truth be told by thriller. You are refreshing. Would add this . . . . Vanderbilt is fast becoming a part of the overall. Can't beat 'em . . . join 'em.

You got THAT right . . . and Franklin is like a rocket engine to get them there. That's too bad. Vanderbilt was always one of those teams you couldn't hate, even on the rare occasions when they beat you, because you knew if you lost to them it probably wasn't Vanderbilt's fault. They were a team with a lot of heart to hang in there against teams that would obviously have better talent - but not SMARTER talent. Now, with the direction they are going, they're just another punk football team that needs a beat down.
On the one hand, I like modern college football - the quality of play is higher than it was 40 years ago. On the other hand - I long for the old days, when the only thing we really had to talk about was the won/loss record and that new fangled "veer offense" and how well the "split-60" defense could prevent lateral running plays. Aaaaahhh. Those were the days.
