Gotta love that name, Rico....sounds "bad".

Remember this name.....Garrett Scantling.

He said he may walk on next year. He's a freshman on full scholarship at UGA as a decathlete on the track team. Competed all year as a freshman and is an animal. Just finished 2nd in the Jr. Olympic trials and will be going to Barcelona in July to compete in the Jr. Worlds.

My point is he was a WR here in Jax last year and finished 2nd in the HS area in catches. He's 6'3 1/2" and 200 lbs. Said he wanted to walk on in 2013.....we'll see. He's a stud, great athlete.

Btw, his brother is a pitcher for FSU in the CWS....he's about 6'8" and can "bring it"....you will see him in action. Two great athletes and two great kids.

Hoping for one of those "diamond in the rough" kind of players.

growl, a couple of days ago it was mentioned in another thread that when we see athletes decommit, opens up the channels for folks that want to be a part of the "A" team.

Rico had to sit a year because he transferred to another high school and apparently did not lose his touch for the football, speaks well for the young pup. As has been said often, coaches can't really teach speed, especially football coaches. Some are blessed, and the closer I look, UGA has been recruiting speed for the last two years.

Link below if you have not seen it as yet.

Edit: Shaq Wiggins name continues to pop up with different recruits. Like the attitude from some of these young men. Shaq's name and playing skills will mean a lot to the Red and Black in the coming years. Don't have to be the biggest or the fastest . . . . commitment makes up for a lot of things.

We are finally getting some speed players CTG really likes this kid me to.They say the reason he does not have any stars is he has not been to but one other camp besides us look for his stock to go up this year.I love it when a player wants to be a Georgia Bulldawg!

This is a good read about RB.

I like fast. Fast is hard to cover. Fast makes me smile and defenders miss.
