In my humble opinion:

Here is the bottom line:

Under Mark Richt

Despite numerous high ranking recruiting classes - UGA is at best a top 25 team. UGA always seems to have depth issues - particularly with the big uglies.

UGA has a boring, predictable offense and seldom has the offensive line and BIG RB's needed to make it work.

While the defense has improved it still tires late in the game from
a.lack of depth
b.offense leaves them on the field too much.

The team seems to come out flat in the beginning of majority of the games.
Lack of motivation?

Opposing teams seem to make much better halftime/game time adjustments?
UGA never appears to alter their offense, before or during a game.

I, honestly feel that UGA won 10 games last year inspite of CMR and Bobo not because of them. Can't recall 1 game where I felt liked our opponent was outcoached.

bulldawg36869, that is pretty much spot on. One thing that I am excited about is Quayvon Hicks coming to Athens. Know that we have the other type running backs, but anyone playing linebacker knows that big backs with talent create a huge problem. Use him please for something other than protection for AM.

Come on AD5 and Buc, don't do the "nice stuff" yet, I'm not leaving the office until about 4:30 today. Great Friday afternoon entertainment, fun, informative and mainly because I wasn't involved....lol.

Great stuff guys, hope ya'll have a great weekend.

Coaching, Recruiting Thoughts

Ya... another one here with no hard feelings towards those that are of a different opinion than my own.

We want the same thing and we love the same university. The coaching staff will have ample opportunity
to prove to me and everyone else that they have got things figured out and under control.

Well said. Coach'em up, take one game at a time, and please use some of the young folks if the games permit. Start building that depth.

Found this today while doing some morning reading. It was on ESPN:

Spurrier On Top
Here's a list of SEC coaches ranked by career wins over FBS teams with winning records.

Coach Current Team W-L vs. Winning Teams
Steve Spurrier South Carolina 85-70-2
Nick Saban Alabama 69-47
Mark Richt Georgia 54-35
Les Miles LSU 45-35
Houston Nutt Ole Miss 36-69
Bobby Petrino Arkansas 28-24
Gene Chizik Auburn 16-20
Dan Mullen Miss. State 6-17
Hugh Freeze Ole Miss 3-2
Joker Phillips Kentucky 3-10
Derek Dooley Tennessee 2-27
Will Muschamp Florida 0-6
James Franklin Vanderbilt 0-6

Thought it was interesting. Also, saw where SS got a raise. Now making CMR, 7th highest paid coach in the SEC. That is sickening, and I don't mean from the fact that CMR deserves more money. Just sickening overall that coaches are making that much.

Also, saw an article where UGA was ranked dead-last in the SEC special teams post-season ranking. IMO, they were lucky to be there. To me, that should be the biggest area for concern. We were dead last in the SEC with Walsh, Butler, and Boykin. Wow. You want to rip CMR all day long for that, I totally agree, and I am not talking about Walsh's misses. Coverage, and overall lack of return game are my focus. A coach that won so many games with big special teams plays, to me this is the hardest to accept. We have dropped the ball somewhere on ST's?

VERY innteresting AD5, also......

of the top 4, CMR has the highest winning percentage:

CMR- 60.67%
Saban-59.48%
Miles-56.25%
SOS- 54.14%

Good stuff AD5.....thanks for posting this info.

Couldn't agree more about our ST's.......just aweful.

Don't think there was anything "special" about our special teams as a whole. Boykin was exciting, Butler was above average and did struggle at times. Walsh along with punt coverage and Kick-off coverage were horrendous most of the time.
