G-Day Game 1 Month, 1 Week ago Karma: 1
So how many of yall are more excited about this years spring game than in years past? I sure am looking foward to seeing the new talent, and to see how much guys improved. I know you can't tell much from the spring game, but its fun to watch and gives you a small taste of Georgia Football, plus its a Saturday in Athens, and nothing gets much better than that.

Yeah I'm really excited about seeing the game but it really doesn't tell you much. If it did then Johnson would have been our #1 RB last year.

Its sad, when selling out the Spring Game is the best thing you did all season. Until we beat them, all you heard on ESPN was how Saban brought Bama "back"....haha that didn't last very long, just ask Lousiana-Monroe. I can't wait until Saban and Bama come to Athens this year. Our fans haven't forgotten how the Bama fans threw bottles at our players.

GO DAWGS!!!!

Sorry. Little outburst there. I still remember how a local DJ here (who goes by "Bama Z" when he's talking football) made the bold statement that the Tide was going to "murder" us in Tuscaloosa. I have never gotten on the phone so quickly in my life. That guy got it from me.

Me: What in the world makes you think Alabama is going to murder us in Tuscaloosa?

Bama Z: Georgia never beats 'Bama in Tuscaloosa.

Me: Except the first time we did it, under Coach Richt, back in 2002.

Bama Z: You can't handle our defense.

Me: Do you remember the last time Georgia played Alabama? We put 37 points on you. I remember that game; I was at that game.

Bama Z: Yeah, but we've got Nick Saban.

Me: The last time we played a Saban-coached team, we beat defending national champs LSU 45-16. I was at that game, too. What else you got?

Bama Z: (close to tears) Uh...uh...Roll Tide?

Me: I can't wait till you b****es come to Athens. -click-

Bama fans are living in the past. They've got a long haul to get back to their glory days. Having said that, Saban's a helluva recruiter.
GO DAWGS!

Athlon SEC Reports
  • Game Day, Part III

In prime time, LSU demolished Virginia Tech in Death Valley, while South Florida upset Auburn on The Plains.

  • Athlon Sports Radio: College Football Week 1 Preview
Host Willy Daunic and Athlon Sports Senior Editor Mitch Light talk about last night's opening games of the 2007 college football season and then switch their attention to previewing the best matchups this weekend. Special guests include Dan Grogan from Athlon Fantasy Football and Tim Prister from IrishIllustrated.com.
  • College Football Weekend Preview: Week 1

  • Athlon Sports Radio: College Football Aug 22nd
Host Willy Daunic and Athlon Sports Senior Editor Mitch Light kick off the first Athlon Sports Radio show and breakdown the college football landscape one week before the season. Join them each week as they breakdown the SEC, then the rest of the nation, and prepare you for the upcoming weekend. Special guests include Dan Grogan from Athlon Fantasy Football and Josh Cooper from the Decatur Daily.
  • Vanderbilt 2007 Preview

This could be the year Vanderbilt snaps its painful string of 24 consecutive losing seasons. When you combine a roster loaded with experience, some star power and a schedule that features eight home games, you have all of the necessary ingredients for a six- or seven-win season in Nashville.

  • Arkansas 2007 Preview

The Heisman Trophy runner-up and Doak Walker award winner, Darren McFadden, returns to a team that won the SEC West. So does Felix Jones, another 1,000-yard rusher. The hopes of the 2007 Arkansas season rest on the shoulders of these two backs as the entire Razorback nation looks to get over a turbulent offseason.

  • Florida 2007 Preview

Those young Gators will have to grow up quickly if they hope to come close to duplicating the success of last season. Florida must replace virtually all of its defense and a four-year starter at quarterback. The Gators face a rough schedule that features home games against Tennessee, Auburn and Florida State, the annual tussle with Georgia and a visit to LSU.

  • Georgia 2007 Preview

There are exclamation points ? most notably the return of a more seasoned Matthew Stafford ? and there are also question marks. The offensive line is inexperienced, the wide receivers are underachieving, and the defensive ends and most of the linebackers are just flat gone. One thing is for sure. It should be one heck of a year in Athens.

  • LSU 2007 Preview

The Tigers go into the 2007 season with lofty and realistic expectations of battling for the national championship. And perhaps it?s not a coincidence that Les Miles? stamp on the Tigers is more obvious now than it was in his first two seasons.

  • Alabama 2007 Preview

Alabama is not deep, and its defensive front is suspect in size, numbers and talent. However, a big pack of skill players returns on offense. Couple that with Alabama's good-schedule year and maybe Nick Saban can pull a surprise in his first season in Tuscaloosa.
