The best players playing own Special Teams about time second half adjustments.
We learned how to tackle.
Going against Mike David we will see how good our Defense is going to be.
TIME for CMR TO calm down the Hype and practice hard.

Very proud that Gurley has stepped up and is becoming a leader this is the one thing I was worried about.

He does not the spot light but he knows what must be done.

3G all day!!!!!!!

How Bout them Dawgs!!!!!!!

Good Tuesday Morning. A small nugget from the local fish wrapper

Center DA said that they ran the same six plays over and over it was fun opening holes

and letting our backs run. 15 plays for us in the 4th quarter all runs. Surprise not!!

3 practices this week working on cleaning up techniques. Word is CJP was vocal during

Mondays film session. Image that. Truly believe this group of players and coaches

Will remain grounded and focused Only thing better than 1-0. Is being . 2-0

A couple of notes:

It was hard to judge Mason this week. The play calling at the beginning of the game was a bit off kilter, and he never got a chance to get into any rhythm.

Now, I'm not going to be a buzzkill here, but I don't want to get too overly excited. It was nice to see us do what we should have done and wear them down in the second half. It does however remain to be seen what our O-line can do against a bigger, stronger SEC D-line.

They get their chance in a couple of weeks.

That being said.... man it was nice to see us doing what we should be doing... wearing down a team we should wear down. That's something in the past we haven't always been able to do.

How nice was it to see us pulling away at the end of a game instead of hanging on for dear life?

Floyd said our D really didn't make half-time adjustments... CJP just said we're going to keep running the same stuff at them, to paraphrase..

If that's true then that's even better than had they made adjustments because that means it took these boys about 1 half to figure out where to be and what to be doing. 1 half, as opposed to playing an entire season and still not having anything figured out.

How nice was it seeing our players on D actually lined up and looking like they knew who to
cover?

Towel Toddy... not missing you, brutha.

Speaking of which... anyone see the Louisvile game? Now Miami wasn't good enough to take advantage of it, but it's nice to see the TTTT continue. (Terrible Towel Toddy Tradition)
With 1st down inside the Louisville 20, Miami runs a play and seemingly half of UL's D wasn't even on the field. It's just too bad that the U was so inept that they dropped a lateral and turned the ball over when they should have scored easily with all the confusion on D.

God Bless and Go Dawgs

Plus we need to hand out the "He brought his lunchpail to work" award for this game, and I'm going to hand that award out to FB Taylor Maxey.

Go back and watch your Gurley highlight film boys, and what you will see on both offense and ST is one Taylor Maxey out road paving in front of him.

Gurley is the man and we all know it, but Maxey brought his lunchpail to work and gets this weeks
yeoman's work award.

Buc wrote: Much has been said since the game about field position.

Clemson coach Dabo Swinney told reporters that the one stat “that was the difference in the game” was average starting field position. Per Swinney, UGA’s average starting field position was its 43-yard line, while Clemson’s was its own 19-yard line.

Not going to call that sour grapes, guess Dabo is happier when he wins.

Who was responsible for the starting field position Dabo? Was mentioned on this board before the game that good SEC football teams have a history of a good punting game. Also, Special Teams backed up the kicking game quite well.

One more thingy, if as a head coach you think that was the only thing that we did better . . . . might want to check with your highly paid offensive and defensive coordinators, see if they have the same thoughts. PP on it . . . . SOUR GRAPES.

Yup. Because the way we were moving the ball, a poorer average field position would just have meant handing the ball off one or two more times.
