Everybody that has a pet, go right now and give them a big hug.......love on them.

Our 3 1/2 year old bulldawg, DJ, had to have emergency surgery Tuesday to remove his "twisted" spleen. All went well, he stayed an extra day and at 10:00 this morning the Dr. said he was doing great. I was to pick him up at 3:30 today. The Dr. called me back at 1:00 and said DJ had collapsed with no warning. They tried for a long time to revive him but couldn't bring him back. The assumption was a blood clot that went to his heart.

My wife and 13 year old twin boys met me at the surgery center to see DJ and say our goodbyes. Total shock.....you never know what life brings......so go love your pet right now, they are family and aren't on this earth long.

We all cried and cried while we were with DJ.......am sure there will be more tears.

Truly a hearbreaking and sad day.

I'm sorry to hear that and will say prayers for DJ and your family. And yes, you are a DGD!

I know that you must miss me,
By the tears rolling down your face.

wlayton, sorry to hear about your loss. It will always hurt but know he had a better life because you and your family were in it.

As a tribute to DJ, I have changed my profile picture to our family friend for a while.

Thank you all so much for reaching out.....DJ was sooooo great.

My intent in posting was for all of you who have pets, love on them and don't take them for granted....or assume they will always be there. Enjoy every day with them. What hurt most was my son and I dropped him off and didn't see him for 2 days......wish we had just 5 more minutes with him.

You ALL are great friends and appreciate your kindness.
