TOPIC: From Athens- My dimes worth

From Athens- My dimes worth 11 months 1 week ago #1

Enough has been written about IC to fill several books.

Not wanting to be left out, here is my 1960’s two cents which is now up to a dime in 2012.

CMR role playing with the missing tailback on the practice field as he handed IC a jersey- Drama

IC signing day with the bulldog puppy- More Drama

IC not knowing the play and blocking assignments-Still more Drama

IC suspension for smoking weed- Drama squared

IC walking away from CMR and blowing him off on the sidelines-this was when the leopard showed his spots to me. Never heard or seen were he manned up and took the blame for being wrong or immature for his action. I was waiting to see what the 2012 issue of IC showed in the season before I got back on his bus. Drama with a side of pure arrogance.

IC arrested for two felony charges and the curtain come down on IC’s short stay at UGA.

I read on another blog that he could have left Athens with the very least a college education and more likely a NFL career. Truly sad. Once again youth is wasted on the young.

The upside is we gained a scholarship and PT of two freshman backs to grow in a hurry.

There may be a hidden bonus. This will force CMB to retool our bland offense. Maybe?

A final few keystrokes on IC.

Knowing right from wrong is a process gained as you age. However, by the time you start your second year of college one would think it was no longer guess work.

Lastly IC won’t be the cause of any on or off field issues this season. That might help us remained focused on the task at hand.

As far as the CW thing -what parent of any generation has not heard-You don’t understand” fill in the blanks…….

This cannot and will not ever be an acceptable reason for using a poor judgment.

Judging by how short CW rant was, IMO someone put a cork in him told him to speak less or your NFL stock will suffer.

One door closes another opens. Opportunity is wearing a new face in Athens this week.

I hope everyone had a safe and a wonderful 4th.

Like many cities we sent record highs this week. Flat out beastly hot.

One more week closer to September. Thank you God !

Make the best of it and go forward. Like I said this may prove out to be a good parting of the ways.

Sooner rather than later!

Pause and give thanks

Have a great weekend and a safe week.

As always “Go Dawgs”

yankeedawg1, solid post.

Everyone has their day in court guaranteed. Whether it will go this far is yet to be seen. While most of us would like for this entire IC thing to wrap up, not going to happen. Somewhere down the road UGA will again be the topic of conversation because of IC's antics while in Athens. Nothing good will come out of this with our recent history of players "playing me first, last and always".

Great 4th of July down this way, hard to beat the "Low Country Boil". We get the afternoon "Atlantic Ocean Breeze" . . . . a blessing. Know that you folks are suffering up that way.

Go Dawgs :)

Out of town today. But you might like the read above. A bunch of young pups would benefit from it. It's good to be acquitted, but best never to be tried.

I don't see that one coming round the bend. Why would CMB retool the offense because
of the dismissal of he who shall not be named?

yankeedawg1, read your post a couple more times. Jumped on the tractor and cut the front. Had made up my mind to try and avoid saying too much more. Then I read the clip below and shutting my trap ended.

We actively researched Isaiah both as a person as well as an athlete," Hornets coach Reggie Barlow said. "We are aware of his current issues, but we also believe in helping young people. We believe that Isaiah has learned from his circumstances and that he will be a quality student-athlete at Alabama State."

Thought for a minute that I was reading something that Mark Richt might say. That is not a slap, just words that I have heard before.

Researched Isaiah both as a person as well as an athlete . . . . . c'mon Reggie Barlow, you are full of you know what. Quick research Reggie . . . .

yankeedawg1, your list of trangressions really struck a note with me, especially the sideline incident between Richt and IC. There was a lot of serious conversation about that incident on this board last season.

Reggie Barlow, you are full of it.
